Meeting her for the first time, I asked Belinda Blakey if she was related to jazz drummer Art Blakey since he was the only other person I knew of with that name. She responded that he was her cousin.
Those in attendance that day were Belinda, Benson Simon, Doug Jones, Itzhak Goldberg, Karen Eckert, and Fran Steiner.
